Monolith BBS Policy Statements
In this document the admins of Monolith state their
policy regarding the the following issues:
Quadrant
proposal and deletion
Proposals for new quadrants can be posted in Unexplored Quadrants>
Other aliens can comment on proposals by others as well as vote
in favor of proposals made earlier. When the need for a certain
quadrant becomes more clear to the admins, the room will be
created, sometimes permanent, sometimes in a test-phase, depending
on how sure the admins are about the need of the quadrant and the
consequenses of the quadrant for the bbs as a whole.
- Quadrant Deletion
When, after a longer period of time, it looks like a room 't
used very much anymore, the admins will post a message that the
room is up for deletion. After that, all aliens will be given
a month to react on this, or show that they really want to keep
the room. When the arguments are valid, and the quadrant will
start scrolling again, it will not be deleted.
(to give an impression of when a room 'isn't used enough anymore'
take about 10 posts a week for a minimum). If this is not
the case, the quadrant will be deleted to make room for another.
It's also possible to complain about a room in general. When
a lot of users think a quadrant should be deleted (can be for
various reasons) they can always yell about it. When we
receive a lot of complaints about a certain quadrant, the issue
might end up in the VotingBooth, so that the users can decide
about the deletion.
Kickouts
and curse -ing
This section is about what Monolith's policy is
towards aliens who don't behave correctly on the bbs.
- Off topic posts or Flames
When an alien places off-topic posts or flames in a Quadrant, the
Quadrant Leader will delete the posts and give the offender a warning.
Repeated offenses will lead to a kickout of the Quadrant by the
Quadrant Leader.
- Harassment or flaming individual aliens
When an alien feels harassed by another alien he/she can report this
to the admins. They will warn the offender. This can happen two times,
when it concerns a rather light offence. The third time the offender
will be cursed which means that the priviliges of the alien
on the BBS are drastically decreasedh, often called twit on
most other bbses.
However, in cases of serious harassment the admins always have the
right to curse or delete the offender immediately. But we
really hope this will never be necessary. For a more detailed

Offensive
nicknames
Offensive nicknames are prohibited on this bbs.
Aliens using an offensive nickname will be notified and they will have
one chance to change their nickname into a decent one. If they refuse,
their account will be deleted. If you have problems with the nickname of
a person then don't try to deal it with yourself, but
yellabout it and let the Admin deal with it. However, keep in mind
that what might be offensive to you is not necessary offensive towards
others.
