Intercom eXpress Messages

The main means of communication on Monolith BBS is the eXpress message. It can be sent simply by pressing X and entering the name of the alien you with to send it to.

This person will receive your message instantly, unless they are posting in a Quadrant at that time. Then the message will be saved and displayed after they finished posting.

Intercom eXpress Messages have a few options for easier use and mental safety that you can control:

A disable option, which allows you to:

Disable the reception of all Intercom eXpress Messages.
Press shift-X to toggle them on and off.
When they are switched off you will only be able receive Intercom eXpress Messages from your X-friends.

An eXpress Beep option.

Press shift-B to toggle this on and off.
When they are switched on you will hear a beep when you receive an Intercom eXpress Message. Handy when you're having sex whilst on the BBS.
